Jeremy Teddy Karn was born in Monrovia, Liberia. He earned his MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where he received fellowships to support his work. As a follower of Jesus Christ, he’s a member of the fellowship of the unshamed.

He has taught Creative Writing at the University of Iowa and is currently a PhD student and an M.D. Anderson Fellow at the University of Houston, where he teaches First-Year College Writing.

His work has appeared in several magazines and journals, with additional pieces forthcoming. He is the co-founder of Pepper Coast Mag and currently serves as the Reviews and Interviews Editor at Gulf Coast.
